Biography

Elizabeth is an experienced litigator who represents clients in affordable housing, real estate, health care and estate disputes. She combines a practical approach and strategic mindset with a steady, business-oriented focus.

Clients turn to Elizabeth to navigate high-stakes conflicts and wage challenges to municipal decisions that obstruct development. She also guides clients in defending against regulatory scrutiny.

In all her work, Elizabeth aims first to define the client’s goal and then map out a plan to achieve it as efficiently as possible.

Affordable Housing and Real Estate Litigation

Elizabeth represents residential and commercial developers in litigation against municipalities that deny project approvals or fail to comply with affordable housing requirements. These cases often involve claims that local government actions are arbitrary, capricious or contrary to state land use law.

She is particularly well-versed in enforcing New Jersey’s Mount Laurel obligations through builders remedy litigation and advising clients on newly enacted private right of action for affordable housing enforcement. Elizabeth regularly presents at legal and industry seminars to help developers and municipal leaders understand these evolving legal tools.

Estate Litigation

Elizabeth handles complex estate and fiduciary disputes, including will contests, trust and estate accountings, and challenges involving undue influence, capacity or breach of fiduciary duty. Clients rely on her to guide them through emotionally charged conflicts with clarity, discretion, and forceful advocacy. She also represents litigants in hotly contested probate matters, and is frequently appointed by New Jersey courts in probate matters.

In a particularly complex case, Elizabeth successfully protected a major New Jersey charity’s interests by invoking the “in terrorem” provision of a woman’s will, leading a significant share of the estate going to the charity.* Such provisions are often unenforceable, but Elizabeth won a favorable ruling in New Jersey state court and defended it on appeal. The N.J. Supreme Court denied certiorari.

Health Care Litigation and White Collar Defense

In the health care sector, Elizabeth represents physician groups and other providers in resolving business and billing disputes, contract negotiations and regulatory investigations. She advises clients responding to audits and defends providers facing allegations of fraud or misconduct. Her work in this space often involves interfacing with state and federal agencies and managing reputational risk alongside legal exposure.

Tax Appeals

Elizabeth maintains a steady docket of property tax appeal matters, advocating for fair valuations and relief for commercial and residential property owners.
