George Duke Elected President of the New York City Brownfield Partnership
Fox Rothschild congratulates George C.D. Duke, who was elected President of the board of directors of the New York City Brownfield Partnership. His term will begin on Jan. 1, 2026.
The Brownfield Partnership provides leadership to the brownfield community throughout New York City. As President, Duke will further the organization’s mission to act as the main source of information on brownfields and redevelopment, promote the benefits of redevelopment, honor successful brownfield projects, educate and train brownfield professionals and students, and foster relationships among key stakeholders.
Duke is a dedicated member of the NYC Brownfield Partnership, having previously served as Vice President of the board. He is also Chair of its Legislative and Policy Committee.
Partner in the firm’s Environmental Department, Duke helps businesses and developers navigate complex environmental and land use laws and regulations. He is particularly adept at guiding clients through the purchase and redevelopment of brownfield sites. Duke assists with site acquisition and due diligence, construction and related project development agreements, project financing, and tax mitigation and development incentives. He also handles environmental enforcement actions.
A leader in environmental law, Duke writes and speaks regularly on topics such as site remediation, brownfield redevelopment, the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA), the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (Superfund), the Build Act and professional responsibility.
