James focuses his practice on the aviation industry, with an emphasis on regulatory counseling, FAA enforcement matters and aviation contracting.

James has experience representing air carriers, aircraft owners, fixed-base operators and aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul facilities in proceedings before state and federal courts and before the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board. He has also counseled major airline clients and other entities in numerous matters involving compliance with FAA regulations.

James has represented clients in all aspects of contracting in the aviation industry, including aircraft purchase and sale agreements for both general aviation and airline transport aircraft. James has also represented clients in commercial and intellectual property disputes between aircraft manufacturers and subcontractors. James has performed due diligence evaluations related to aviation mergers and acquisitions for aircraft airframe and parts manufacturers.

In addition, James has represented and advised aviation insurers in coverage matters involving claims of property damage.
