Biography

John is Co-Chair of the Directors' and Officers' Liability & Corporate Governance Practice Group. He has extensive experience defending directors and officers of public and private corporations in claims arising from alleged improper acts in the discharge of their duties and management decisions.

He represents clients in federal and state courts in cases involving breach of fiduciary duty, ERISA, breach of duty of loyalty, corporate governance, shareholder issues and fraud, among other matters.

John also helps resolve international disputes for domestic and international clients. He earned an LL.M. degree in International and European Law from the University of Amsterdam, and has a keen understanding of the U.S. and foreign regulations that affect international trade, including customs and import compliance, export restrictions and U.S. sanctions programs and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

Beyond Fox Rothschild

John is a member of the board of directors of the World Trade Association of Philadelphia. Established in 1931, the World Trade Association promotes international trade in Philadelphia through education, policy initiatives and networking of the industries in and around the Port of Philadelphia.

John is President of the board of Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens, a nonprofit organization that works to inspire creativity and community engagement by educating the public about visionary art and preserving, interpreting and providing access to the iconic mosaic works of Isaiah Zagar.

Before Fox Rothschild

Prior to joining Fox Rothschild, John served as a law clerk to the Honorable Malachy E. Mannion of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. John also served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Michael M. Baylson of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

John received his LL.M. in International and European Law from the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands. With a concentration in International Trade and Investment Law, John focused on international business transactions and complex dispute resolution.

While at the Villanova University School of Law, John served as Editor-in-Chief of the Villanova Sports and Entertainment Law Journal.
