Fox Rothschild LLP congratulates John T. Rose, who was named to the list of attorneys On the Rise by the Daily Report.

This annual award recognizes attorneys in the Georgia business community who are “amassing robust books of business” while “showing expertise in litigation or transactional work and committing themselves to pro bono, charitable and professional volunteer work.”

Rose, an attorney in Fox’s Entertainment & Sports Law Department based in Atlanta, uses his knowledge and influence to support artists in Georgia and beyond. His clients include Grammy nominated and multi-platinum producers ChaseTheMoney and Ronny J, platinum recording artist YBN Nahmir, and recording artists Lady London, Cyn Santana, Jhacari and Unghetto Matheiu. He has negotiated seven-figure contracts and closed several major deals on behalf of clients with BET, Sprite, Reebok, Facebook, Diego and Bleacher Report, and has secured a groundbreaking joint venture on behalf of renowned music photographer Cam Kirk and Atlantic Records to sign and develop visual content creators. He has also represented multiple high-profile clients alongside Fox Partner Leron Rogers, including Kanye West, Rick Ross, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Jagged Edge and Abou "Bu" Thiam.

In his litigation practice, Rose has represented clients in several multimillion-dollar lawsuits. Notably, he helped obtain a recent dismissal for a defamation lawsuit filed in the Northern District of Georgia against rap artist Rick Ross regarding his autobiography "Hurricanes: A Memoir," as well as an earlier highly publicized victory on the rapper’s behalf in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. He has also secured dismissals of suits filed against Universal Music Group (UMG) and Def Jam. In addition, Rose assisted in litigation matters on behalf of Mizay Entertainment and its principal, Debra “Ms. Deb” Antney, in a multimillion-dollar breach of contract case against French Montana, and Grammy-nominated and platinum-selling singer, songwriter and producer B.o.B in a multimillion-dollar lawsuit against former manager, B Rich.

Beyond Fox, Rose is dedicated to shifting the cultural paradigm through his two Atlanta-based endeavors: nonprofit organization S.A.D.E.’s Hope, a joint venture with his Fox Rothschild colleague Antonia Acevedo, which serves teenage and millennial victims of domestic violence, and Collective Gallery, a novelty label and agency for creatives. As a member of the Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association, the largest professional organization of sports and entertainment executives and attorneys of color, Rose frequently volunteers his time to speak on professional, business and music industry topics to groups and institutions across the United States. He also created a scholarship to support Hampton University students pursing legal careers.

He earned his J.D. from Emory University School of Law, Certificate in Business Analytics from Harvard Business School and B.A., cum laude, from Hampton University.
