Biography

Jonathan counsels physicians, hospitals, and other health care professionals, facilities, and businesses on complex regulatory and transactional matters. His practice includes regulatory compliance, fraud and abuse, the corporate practice of medicine, telehealth, HIPAA and healthcare provider and commercial contracting.

Drawing on his experience as former in-house counsel for a hospital system, Jonathan takes a practical, business-oriented approach to help clients navigate an evolving regulatory landscape while achieving their strategic goals. He advises healthcare clients on transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and other affiliations, aligning business objectives with regulatory requirements. He also handles a wide range of contractual arrangements and day-to-day compliance counseling.

Before Fox Rothschild

Prior to joining Fox Rothschild, Jonathan was in-house counsel for a nonprofit hospital system in Indiana, where he advised the organization on a broad portfolio of legal matters, including those relating to its COVID-19 pandemic response. He also served on the system's Institutional Review Board and Clinical Ethics Committee, deepening his understanding of clinical operations and healthcare governance. Jonathan was a legal extern for the same organization while earning his law degree.

Beyond Fox Rothschild

Jonathan is the author of a chapter on financial relationships between physicians and industry manufacturers and vendors in the American Health Law Association’s Representing Physicians Handbook (5th ed., 2025). He speaks about his work at events for pre-law and law students. Jonathan currently serves as Chair of the University of Scranton’s Council of Alumni Lawyers and previously served on the Board of Directors for Leadership South Bend/Mishawaka and Ablaze Mission, a Catholic young adult ministry.
