Fox Rothschild LLP congratulates Kathy S. Kimmel on her receipt of the Mitchell Hamline Law Review’s Wallace-Lerner Award for Excellence in Leadership.

Kimmel graduated from William Mitchell College of Law (magna cum laude) in 1996 and served as an editor for the Law Review while in law school.

This annual distinction is presented to distinguished alumni whose service to the legal profession reflects community, communication and collaboration.

“I am honored to receive this recognition,” said Kimmel. “Participating in the Law Review was a special part of my law school experience, and I am pleased that the Law Review is still thriving at Mitchell Hamline.”

Kimmel, a well-respected litigator and trial attorney, was highlighted for her work with the Tubman Safety Project, which provides pro bono legal representation to low-income victims of domestic violence seeking protection orders. She was previously named an “Attorney of the Year” by the Project for her service and has been recognized as a “North Star Lawyer” by the Minnesota State Bar Association for her continued pro bono efforts. Kimmel has also been recognized by Minnesota attorneys as a “Super Lawyer” in Minnesota since 2010, and among “Top Women Lawyers in Minnesota.”

A partner in the firm’s Litigation Department, Kimmel helps clients protect and preserve their interests in business and health care disputes and trust controversies. She regularly represents owners, officers and directors in intra-company conflicts and helps businesses safeguard their trade secrets and intellectual property from improper use. She also represents clients regarding employment agreements—including noncompetes—and has both brought and defended against many motions of injunctive relief. Kimmel has tried numerous cases in trials and arbitration proceedings to decision.
