This course will begin with an overview of the legal and regulatory foundations of U.S. Gaming Law, including relevant definitions and terms in the industry, history of gaming in the U.S. and the emergence of sports betting. The course will also examine the evolution of gambling in the U.S. with the rise of sports event contracts and prediction markets, and explore the development under the CFTC and current issues and arguments related to prediction market operations in the U.S., along with a discussion of the rapidly evolving litigation and legislative activity at both the state and federal levels.
