Fox Rothschild LLP congratulates Partner Kimberly Bullock Gatling, who was elected Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees for her alma mater, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, at the Board’s September meeting.

Gatling has provided outstanding volunteer leadership assistance for the university for years through service to multiple boards, including the Board of Visitors and the Alumni Council, in addition to her work as a trustee.

In her new role, Gatling will work with the Board to promote “sound governance that enables it to perform at a high level of excellence,” and added that the board will adhere to best practices for governing boards, advancing the university’s mission through current, transparent and exemplary means.

“North Carolina A&T is a major asset to our state and the nation,” said Gatling. “Not only has it been America’s largest historically Black university for the past decade, it is one of North Carolina’s top three public research universities.

“Having the opportunity to serve North Carolina A&T in this new role is humbling and gratifying, and I look forward to the significant new milestones we are certain to reach in the near future.”

The Board serves as an advisory body to the UNC Board of Governors and the university chancellor on the management and development of the university, respectively.

Gatling, Fox Rothschild’s first Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer, works to develop and implement programs and policies that support the firm’s goals of increasing and promoting a diverse workforce and inclusive environment at all levels throughout the firm. She also maintains an active intellectual property practice focused on prosecution, licensing and litigation matters.

Gatling earned her J.D. from George Washington University Law School and her B.S., cum laude, from North Carolina A&T State University.
