Fox Rothschild’s Gaming Law Department was named the 2025 Gaming Law Practice of the Year by the New Jersey Law Journal, recognizing the team’s significant impact on the gaming industry over the past year.

Led by Co-Chairs Marie Jiacopello Jones and C.J. Fisher in Atlantic City, Fox’s Gaming Law Department represents global industry leaders, including Hard Rock International, MGM Resorts International, Sportradar and Konami, in a range of gaming licensing, compliance and other legal matters. The team also counsels numerous other manufacturers, suppliers and investors that are shaping the future of the gaming industry.

Recent standout matters handled by the team include the submission of the NY RFA for Hard Rock Metropolitan Park and the selection of NYRA Bets as managing vendor of New Jersey’s online and mobile pari-mutuel wagering system for horse racing.

In a Q&A, Jones and Fisher highlighted how the team stays ahead of regulatory shifts, expands into new jurisdictions and tackles complex licensing and gaming transactional challenges.

“There has been tremendous growth in the online sports betting and iGaming markets,” Jones said. “In situations where a state or country is grappling with online gaming for the first time, we work with the regulator and the client to educate the new jurisdiction on their operations while ensuring that the client can operate effectively.”

On the rise of online gaming, Fisher added, “We have stayed on top of this rapidly changing industry by closely tracking emerging legislation and regulations and by helping develop new regulations as jurisdictions expand and upgrade regulatory regimes based on experience.”
