Biography

Matthew focuses his practice on commercial litigation, in particular unique cases in which legal or factual complexities require innovative solutions.

He guides clients through all stages of business disputes, from inception to resolution, taking a thorough and creative approach to reaching a resolution that aligns with their business goals.

Matthew’s recent experience includes arguments before the Federal and Fourth Circuit Courts of Appeal and the South Dakota Supreme Court. He also has filed written briefs for matters in appellate courts in North Carolina and South Dakota, as well as the Federal, Fourth and Eleventh Circuit Courts of Appeal.

Before Fox Rothschild

Matthew joined us from a regional boutique law firm, where he practiced civil litigation. He previously clerked for the Honorable William McKinnon of the South Carolina Circuit Court and for the Honorable Clifford Athey, Jr. of the Virgina Court of Appeals. 

While earning his law degree, Matthew was a summer clerk at a law firm in Columbia, South Carolina. He also worked as a judicial extern for the Honorable Alice Batchelder of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit. 

During law school, Matthew published two articles in his school's law review, where he also served as Student Development Editor. He vice-chaired the Moot Court Board and earned the Advocate’s Award for Outstanding Excellence in Moot Court. Matthew was also a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Board
