Biography

A member of the firm's Litigation Department, Matthew represents emerging, middle-market and Fortune 500 companies in commercial litigation and other disputes. 

Matthew litigates a broad cross-section of business, contract-related and other claims in state and federal courts and before arbitration panels. His clients span a diverse crosscut of industries, ranging from early-stage entrepreneurs and the ultra-wealthy to Fortune 500 financial institutions and other multinational companies.

Matthew has been published on issues relating to repose and state borrowing statutes and has guest lectured on legal and equitable remedies at the University of Southern California Gould School of Law.

Before Fox Rothschild

Prior to Fox Rothschild, Matthew was an associate at a Los Angeles-based firm. In law school, he served as president of the Veterans Law Society and an editor on the Loyola of Los Angeles International and Comparative Law Review. Matthew was a law clerk in the Organized Crime Division of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, and he was a judicial extern to the late Honorable Ronald S.W. Lew of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.

Beyond Fox Rothschild

Before transitioning to law, Matthew held a Top Secret clearance in the U.S. Marines where he worked on small teams executing sensitive and classified actions with conventional, special operations and other elite government units. He is a combat-decorated veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan with additional operational experience in Asia and Europe. His decorations include the Purple Heart, Navy & Marine Corps Commendation Medal and the Combat Action Ribbon.

Matt has been an invited panelist and guest speaker at the undergraduate and graduate levels on topics concerning veteran-related issues. He is also a mentor with American Corporate Partners, a non-profit that assists veterans and eligible spouses with transitioning into corporate careers.

He was born and raised in New England.
