Fox Rothschild congratulates Catherine B. Mitchell, who was recognized by the Charlotte Business Journal as one of 25 leaders “who are creating an impact in the region through their work.”

This honor, part of the publication’s Women in Business awards program, reflects Mitchell’s commitment to better the community through her professional achievements and volunteer work.

Mitchell, a partner in the Real Estate Department, represents developers, borrowers, landlords, tenants and lenders in commercial real estate transactions. She counsels developers and investors in the acquisition, disposition and leasing of commercial properties and assists borrowers and lenders in real estate financing.

“I love negotiating toward a common goal of closing a real estate deal where everyone leaves happy,” Mitchell shared with the Charlotte Business Journal.

The publication highlighted Mitchell’s instrumental role among the Fox team that counseled CU Capital Management in a landmark $89.5 million sale-leaseback transaction with Truliant Federal Credit Union. The sale included Truliant’s headquarters in Winston-Salem, its operations center and four branches, with Mitchell handling the real estate and title issues in North Carolina.

Mitchell is a Fellow of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys and a member of the University of North Carolina Asheville Board of Trustees. She provides pro bono representation to several Asheville businesses that were affected by flooding from Hurricane Helene. She is also a member of the Charlotte chapter of CREW, which empowers women in real estate.

If she could offer advice to her younger self, she would say, “Keep going. Setbacks will happen, but don't give up. While the end result may not be what you expected, learn to redefine your expectations and what you consider success.”
