Fox Rothschild LLP is pleased to announce that Sidney S. Liebesman has joined the Wilmington office as a partner in the Litigation Department.
“Fox is committed to expanding our services in Delaware and we are thrilled to welcome Sid to the team,” said Sharon Oras Morgan, Fox’s Wilmington Office Managing Partner. “His broad representation of numerous high-profile U.S. and foreign institutional investors and his background handling shareholder derivative litigation will be a valuable asset to our clients both in Delaware and nationwide.”

He has represented some of the largest institutional investors in the world and played major roles prosecuting high-profile securities fraud civil actions, including In re Tyco International, Ltd. Securities Litigation, which settled for $3.2 billion, and In re Global Crossing Ltd. Securities Litigation, which settled for nearly $450 million.
Liebesman has appeared before tribunals and conducted depositions in Europe, Singapore and Australia. He played a central role in the landmark Pan-European settlement of securities claims under Dutch law - the first of its kind in the Amsterdam Court of Appeals - where he represented dozens of financial institutions throughout Europe.
Prior to practicing law, Liebesman was a police officer with the New Castle County Police Department, where he received numerous accolades from the Department and civil organizations.
Liebesman’s addition follows on the heels of a recent merger with 23-attorney Shaw Fishman Glantz & Towin, through which the firm’s Wilmington office gained Tom Horan and Johnna Darby. The firm’s Delaware team regularly counsels clients in corporate and commercial litigation, financial restructuring and bankruptcy, environmental law, intellectual property, taxation and wealth planning, real estate and other legal areas.
Liebesman earned his J.D. from Villanova University and his B.A. from the University of Delaware. Prior to joining Fox, Liebesman was a partner in the litigation department of a Mid-Atlantic law firm.
