Biography
Managing Partner of the firm’s Wilmington Office and Co-Chair of its national Environmental Practice, Sharon counsels clients on complex environmental and litigation matters in Delaware, the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond.
Businesses in the real estate development, transportation, manufacturing and environmental services industries rely on Sharon’s strategic counsel regarding environmental, health and safety laws, as well as various regulations, programs and policies. She is skilled with:
- Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA)

Sharon regularly counsels clients on pre-litigation enforcement risks. She assesses the threats of a civil action before it ripens into costly litigation, allowing businesses to proactively address concerns.
Sharon’s experience extends to helping clients navigate various regulatory matters involving applicable environmental laws. She advises businesses on remediation/cleanup efforts and helps them navigate the process.
Her practice also involves significant involvement in real estate acquisition, development, and use. Sharon is adept at understanding her client’s goals, and facilitating the necessary game plan to lead them to the desired outcome in a timely and cost effective manner.
Sharon's experience also includes:*
- Successfully defending a toxic tort action through exclusion of adversary's experts pursuant to a Daubert challenge.
- Negotiating, assessing and litigating natural resource damages claims.
- Advice and counseling on Environmental Audits.
- Obtaining necessary permits and approvals on projects involving wetlands.
- Advising developers, purchasers and sellers in acquisitions and real estate transactions, including counseling on complex environmental, due diligence, land use, permitting and title issues.
- Counseling property owners with storm water issues, including those subject to storm water assessments.
- Advising clients on drainage disputes.
- Representing Delaware corporations in litigation involving everything from local operations to international contractual disputes.
- Litigation of contentious, high-stakes trust and estate matters, including trust construction, will contests and fiduciary issues.
