Fox Rothschild congratulates Jocelyn Mendez, who received the Distinguished Alumni Practitioner Trailblazer Award from Widener University Delaware Law School’s Black Law Students Association (BLSA).

The annual award is presented to alumni who demonstrate excellence in the legal profession, exemplary leadership and a sustained commitment to uplifting and advancing the Black legal community. Mendez, who serves as Vice Chair of the school’s Black Alumni Network Leadership Team, received the award during the Trailblazers & Stoling Ceremony, which brought together students, alumni and legal professionals to celebrate leadership and service.

Mendez served as President of the BLSA from 2020-2021. During law school, Mendez co-founded and chaired the Transformative Culture Subcommittee, a section of the Delaware Law School Standing Committee for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

An associate in the Litigation Department, Mendez advises corporate and institutional clients on high-stakes business disputes and proactive risk management strategies. Her practice includes litigating real estate and construction matters, defending constitutional claims, enforcing creditors’ rights, and representing employers in restrictive covenant and trade secret disputes, including enforcement and defense of noncompete, nonsolicitation and confidentiality agreements.
