Fox Rothschild LLP congratulates Lisa M. Williford, who was selected as a 2023 Outstanding Women in Business honoree by Triad Business Journal.

This annual award recognizes “extraordinary businesswomen for the impact they’ve had in their professions, industries and communities.”

Williford, who was elevated to Partner in 2021, is highlighted as one of the youngest attorneys to lead the Greensboro Bar Association. She has also chaired the North Carolina Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division, “where she worked to provide career development resources to historically excluded attorneys and supported the creation of a salary negotiations panel.”

A mentor to women attorneys locally and nationally, Williford is active in Fox’s Women’s Initiative and assists with recruitment efforts. “I mentor women law students and associates who are interested in joining the firm or advancing to positions of leadership,” she told the Triad Business Journal. “I understand firsthand how hard it can be for a woman attorney to establish a healthy work-life balance, so I am trying to make it easier for the next generation to develop their careers.”

An experienced litigator focusing her practice on labor and employment, Williford guides businesses through the dispute resolution process and represents schools, universities and municipalities, as well as financial institutions, property owners and health care providers and a wide variety of businesses in commercial, employment and governmental matters.

Williford earned her J.D., with honors, from the University of North Carolina School of Law and her B.S., with highest honors, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
