A patent litigation and trial attorney, French-Brown partners with clients to develop legal strategies that advance their business objectives. French-Brown also co-chairs the firm’s Intellectual Property Litigation Practice, representing clients in federal district and appellate courts, as well as before the U.S. International Trade Commission and Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

In an interview with New York Law Journal, French-Brown noted that clients expect attorneys to understand the innovations at the heart of their businesses, adding that “lawyers who thrive going forward will be those who truly understand their clients’ industries.”

Reflecting on her path to partnership, French-Brown cited negotiation, diplomacy and perseverance as critical to overcoming challenges and bias throughout her career. She said she remained focused on believing in herself and embraced the mantra “never give up,” recognizing that every career includes trials and tribulations.

French-Brown encourages attorneys to embrace their unique perspectives — “whether it comes from your background, your identity or your prior career” — as “your greatest asset.” She also emphasized the importance of trusting your instincts, adding that the “lawyers who make the greatest impact are those who are willing to take thoughtful risks and never stop learning.”
