Fox Rothschild LLP is pleased to welcome Leigh F. Prince as a partner in the Real Estate Department in Charlotte, North Carolina.

“Leigh’s cross-country practice and her experience working in both the public and private sector land use and zoning matters is a perfect fit for our Charlotte office and Fox’s national footprint,” said Jeffrey P. MacHarg, Fox’s Charlotte Office Managing Partner. “We are thrilled to welcome Leigh to our Charlotte office and to the firm.”

Prince helps clients with complex land development projects through all matters related to the zoning entitlement process, from early planning and due diligence through agency entitlement, and when necessary, litigation. She represents landowners, developers and municipal entities in land use matters regarding zoning approvals and amendments, general plan compliance and amendments, subdivision mapping and writ of mandate actions.

Previously, Prince served as Assistant City Attorney for the City of Menlo Park, California, guiding the city through many land development matters, including several Facebook campus projects involving development agreements. She also held a position as Town Attorney for the Town of Portola Valley and earlier in her career Deputy City Attorney for the cities of Monte Sereno and Scotts Valley.

With a mix of public and private sector experience, Prince is a trusted and practical adviser helping clients develop creative solutions using political instincts, technical expertise and a strong understanding of how local agencies work. She frequently negotiates and drafts agreements with local governments, including development agreements and affordable housing agreements, and has experience with a wide array of development projects from single and multifamily residential to mixed-use and commercial projects, including office, research and development, and retail.

She earned her J.D. from George Washington University Law School and B.A. from the University of California, Davis.
