Fox Rothschild welcomes Albert V. Dumaual to the New York office as counsel in the Taxation & Wealth Planning Department.

Dumaual is adept in guiding clients through estate planning to prepare for incapacity and death. He also has extensive experience at the intersection of estate planning and tax law, advising clients on sophisticated estate, tax and business succession planning.

Leveraging his tax background, Dumaual develops integrated planning strategies that minimize transfer taxes through the effective use of available estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax exemptions while avoiding unintended income tax consequences, including methods involving qualified opportunity funds, qualified small business stock and the qualified business income deduction.

Dumaual designs, implements and advises on a wide range of trust strategies tailored to each client’s family circumstances and financial objectives, including grantor retained annuity trusts, spousal lifetime access trusts, qualified personal residence trusts, joint purchase trusts, complete gift and incomplete gift non-grantor trusts, charitable remainder trusts, and beneficiary defective inheritor’s and owner’s trusts.

In addition to designing estate planning strategies, Dumaual incorporates business entities into integrated planning structures and prepares shareholder agreements, partnership agreements and LLC operating agreements to support clients’ business succession goals. He also counsels fiduciaries on trust and estate administration and represents charitable organizations in probate proceedings to protect and enforce bequests made in their favor.

He earned his LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law, J.D. from Touro Law Center and B.A. from Rutgers University.

Before joining the firm, Dumaual was counsel at Polsinelli.
