Variety Highlights Cynthia Katz in New York Women’s Impact Report
Fox Rothschild congratulates Cynthia L. Katz, who was named to Variety’s 2024 New York Women’s Impact Report. The annual list recognizes those who “shone brightly, delivered standout performances, productions and deals” for the “stage, screen or in the C-suite.”
Cited as a “busy dealmaker,” Katz is noted of orchestrating about a “billion dollars’ of acquisition deals,” including buying and selling music rights, assets and companies.
A partner in the firm’s Entertainment and Sports Law Department, she has represented HarbourView Equity Partners in about 50 music catalog acquisitions including Wiz Khalifa, Christine McVie and Kane Brown.
Variety also highlighted Katz’s representation of Primary Wave Publishing in their acquisitions of Sarah McLaughlan and Eddie Rabbit’s catalogs. She also negotiated a deal for producer Denzel “Conductor” Williams to craft Drake’s “8AM in Charlotte.”
When asked how music investment is growing, Katz said, “In the next five years, it’s going to grow even more with increased interest and capital, which is really good for talent and the whole industry.”
