Biography
A skilled litigator, Sarah helps clients resolve insurance and commercial disputes. With practical, business-focused results in mind, she advises clients on potential liability exposures and represents businesses in litigation.
Sarah works with her individual and commercial clients, including insurers, to reach creative legal solutions and resolutions. If resolution is not viable, she is an accomplished advocate who is prepared to ardently represent her clients in the courtroom.
Sarah is experienced in defending insurers in bad faith, coverage and indemnity law. She has also briefed appellate matters through the Washington Supreme Court and in the Ninth Circuit. Sarah has represented insurance carriers and their policyholders in broad range of litigation involving:
- Bad faith claims
- Personal injury
- Wrongful death
- Property disputes
- General liability
- Professional liability
- Class action lawsuits
In addition, Sarah has represented businesses and their directors and officers in employment law claims involving harassment, retaliation and discrimination in arbitrations, before government agencies and in federal and state trial and appellate courts. She has appeared before the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries and the state Human Rights Commission as well as the U.S. Department of Education and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. She is also skilled in class action, product liability, professional liability, construction disputes and complex commercial litigation.

Sarah joined us from a national firm where she practiced for nearly 10 years.
While earning her law degree, Sarah clerked for the Washington State Office of the Attorney General in the Government Compliance and Enforcement Division. She honed her litigation skills in school. She was a special selection to the Moot Court Honor Board during her 3L year. Selected as a Writing Fellow her 2L year, she assisted 1Ls with their legal writing.
Before attending law school, Sarah spent several years working in Washington, D.C. for U.S. Rep. Greg Walden of Oregon.
Representative Matters
- Represented insurance company in a dispute with contractual and extracontractual claims that resulted in a bench verdict in favor of the client.
- Defended a client in a professional liability/legal malpractice jury trial that resulted in first-day dismissal with success in multiple appeals.
- Secured a motion for summary judgment dismissing an insurer’s GAP coverage claims and extra-contractual claims based on lack of coverage for claimed loss under the policy.
- Part of a team that represented a national clothing retailer in a multimillion-dollar national class action lawsuit brought by financial institutions following a data breach. Secured a 32-page favorable federal court order, ultimately resulting in a settlement.
- Prevailed in arbitrations related to personal injury claims and contract disputes.
