Biography
Co-Chair of the firm's Health Law Practice, Terri is an experienced health care lawyer and trusted advisor to a broad range of health care providers on regulatory compliance, major transactions and dispute resolution. She provides strategic regulatory counsel for her clients and regularly appears before administrative agencies.
She has more than three decades of experience in guiding clients in many aspects of regulatory compliance, strategic planning and risk management. Her clients include:
- acute care hospitals
- ambulatory surgical facilities
- assisted living facilities
- behavioral health facilities
- continuing care retirement communities
- hospice agencies
- health systems
- home health agencies
- laboratories
- mobile medical equipment companies
- nursing homes
- physician practices
Terri is particularly adept at working with health care clients that want to provide new or expanded services or acquire regulated equipment through the North Carolina Certificate of Need process.
She also has deep experience in health care-related litigation at the trial and appellate levels, including jury and nonjury trials, arbitrations and mediations.
Beyond Fox Rothschild
Terri served from 2022-2024 on the Legal Committee for LeadingAge, a nonprofit that represents more than 5,000 providers of aging services with a focus on advocacy, applied research and community-building to make America a better place to grow old.
She is also an active member of the Greensboro community. From 2017-2019, Terri served as Chair of the Board of Trustees of Friends Homes, Inc., a continuing care retirement community. Terri is involved with the Women's Professional Forum, volunteers her time for the attorney hotline of the Women's Resource Center and is an active member of New Garden Friends Meeting. She also began serving in January 2023 as Clerk of the North Carolina Yearly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends, Inc. (NCYM, Inc.).
Terri presents frequently on a variety of health care compliance and risk management topics, and she has spoken at programs sponsored by LeadingAge North Carolina, the American Health Law Association, and the Health Care Compliance Association, as well as for individual clients.
Before Fox Rothschild
Terri was Partner in Charge of the Greensboro office of Smith Moore Leatherwood LLP, which combined with Fox Rothschild in 2018.
