Skilled with general corporate law and international business transactions, Thomas is Board Certified by the Florida Bar as an expert in International Law.

Fluent in Spanish, Thomas often assists clients with international business transactions involving the United States and Latin America. He is experienced with private real estate and debt funds, mergers and acquisitions (primarily inbound), joint ventures, in-bound structuring of foreign investments, and commercial contracts.

Thomas also handles asset-based and real estate financing matters for institutional and private lenders, including financial institutions, hedge funds, private debt funds, and foreign investors and sponsors. He also handles transactional real estate matters, including the acquisition, financing and leasing of multi-family, mixed-use, condominium, retail and office properties.

  • Represented foreign sponsor of a $150 million real estate fund focused on value-add and core-plus multi-tenant shopping centers throughout the United States.
  • Represented a real estate investment fund in the purchase of a five-story, fully leased office building in Miami Beach for a purchase price in excess of $35 million.
  • Represented a developer in obtaining a $77 million construction loan for an 18-story building in Miami that will include nearly 300 luxury apartments, about 15,000 square feet of retail and almost 400 parking spaces.
  • Represented a real estate investment fund that bought a renovated, five-story office building in South Beach for a purchase price of more than $26 million.
