Biography
Al's diverse commercial litigation practice includes high-stakes representation of some of the nation's largest companies, as well as local businesses of all sizes.
He has broad experience in complex business disputes and has successfully represented clients in federal and state courts, before arbitration tribunals and in mediation. Al applies a pragmatic approach in all his cases, often adopting unconventional, creative strategies to achieve positive outcomes.
Recent successes include:
- Securing dismissal of all claims on summary judgment for a national bank in a sensitive public accommodation discrimination action
- Negotiating a favorable, walk-away settlement for a major insurance company in a novel insurance bad-faith action
- Defeating statutory and common law claims against a real estate agent and brokerage, and recovering attorneys' fees, as second chair in a contentious, weeklong bench trial
Before Fox Rothschild
Prior to joining Fox, Al was an associate at a boutique New York City law firm serving clients in the entertainment, finance, and software and technology industries, with an emphasis on complex litigation, employment disputes, and transactional M&A and securities matters. He worked on high-profile lawsuits including cases related to the Academy Award-winning film "Birdman," the multidistrict LIBOR litigation and a bet-the-company equity dispute for a leading financial technology company.
During law school, Al served as acquisitions editor for the Cardozo Arts and Entertainment Law Journal.
Before embarking on a second career as a lawyer, Al was a New York-based lighting designer for theater, dance and live music, working closely with top directors, musicians and producers.

Al is a member of multiple committees with the American Bar Association including the ABA Section of Dispute Resolution Arbitration Committee and the Young Lawyers Division.
