New Jersey’s employers face an ever-changing workplace regulatory environment. In this program, attendees will learn about the top 6 areas where legal requirements have changed/could change and what they should be doing to remain in compliance.

NJ FLA Amendments: The New Jersey Family Leave Act has been amended, effective July 17, 2026. We will discuss these amendments, including how they affect the threshold for employee eligibility, and the interesting effects they will have on New Jersey’s short-term disability and family leave insurance laws.

The ABC Test for Contractors: New Jersey has issued proposed regulations that would solidify the ABC test used by courts in New Jersey. We will discuss the status of the proposed rule, as well as the implications of its potential implementation.

New Jersey’s Pay Transparency Act - As of last year, New Jersey law requires employers to be fully transparent about compensation to candidates and job seekers. This "pay transparency" applies to postings of new job openings as well as notice of internal job opportunities. Generally applicable to employers with 10 or more employees, the law not only requires specific notice, but also requires recordkeeping and imposes penalties for non-compliance. This seminar will cover the law's impact recruiting and retention strategies, and address best practices for compliance.

The use of AI in the hiring process: We will discuss: Employers increased use of AI and Automated Employment Decision Tools (AEDTs) to assist human resource professionals and hiring managers in screening candidates and reviewing resumes; Employer’s best practices concerning the use of AI and AEDT’s; Legislation proposed in New Jersey seeking to regulate the use of AI; and the intersection between the use of AI and state and federal anti-discrimination laws.
