Training

Thorough. Innovative. Engaging.

You strive to be all these things when dealing with your clients — and we strive to make sure you have the training you need to highlight these aspects of your practice. We pride ourselves on helping attorneys become forward-thinking and creative problem solvers.

At Fox, you won’t wait years to enjoy the benefits of internal and external training and education programs or discover the thrill of a courtroom battle. We provide in-depth, hands-on learning opportunities and work to develop attorneys’ enhanced strategic thinking and analysis, starting on day one.

We’re continually developing new and innovative programs, such as our Deposition Skills Workshop, Mock Trial Academy and Motions Intensive Workshop.

These multiday trainings are taught by top-tier Fox Rothschild partners and counsel and provide ample networking opportunities. In each program, associates participate in presentations, panel discussions and “learn-by-doing” exercises, in which they practice taking and defending depositions, argue motions and partake in a full mock trial before jurors from the community. Partners provide extensive feedback to associates, which they can apply to their practice.

Our Transactional Bootcamp and Negotiations Workshop, for our transactional associates, is taught by outside experts. This program explains deal context, gives associates the opportunity to review and draft contracts and fosters associate participation in a transactional negotiation.

Continuing Legal Education

Unique. Individual. Meaningful.

As part of an attorney’s sustained professional development, many jurisdictions mandate continuing education requirements. At Fox Rothschild, we offer many accredited Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs to help attorneys meet their CLE compliance.

We aim to create thought-provoking programs that help you stay current on changes in the law related to your practice area. Our targeted CLE courses address an attorney’s specific needs based on their practice area and years of experience. Each year, we create extensive curricula for our five largest Departments: Litigation, Corporate, Real Estate, Labor & Employment, and Intellectual Property. Courses are required for certain associates, but all Fox attorneys are invited to attend.

We also ensure attorneys receive the attention and education they need by helping them monitor, track and report their CLE compliance.

Compensation

Salaries for lateral associates are commensurate with experience. Starting salaries for first-year associates vary by office location. Compensation increases for attorneys are merit-based according to a combination of key factors, including:

  • Quality of work
  • Billable hours
  • Pro bono activities
  • Recruitment activities
  • Firm committee participation
  • Business development efforts

We offer a stipend to our first-year associates. The stipend is intended to cover their bar exam fees, review courses, any other bar-related expenses, and to assist them while studying for the bar exam.
