Biography

Christopher has a dynamic entertainment law practice informed by decades of successful business management and executive leadership. He also advises businesses on a range of legal and commercial matters.

Entertainment Law

Christopher has more than 30 years of experience providing legal advice and brand management to global entertainment businesses, digital media platforms and creative artists across the music, film, TV, streaming and literary sectors.

Christopher has catalyzed revenue growth for major musicians such as Hanson and the Jerry Garcia Estate, and has secured recording, publishing, licensing, merchandising, touring and other agreements for other iconic bands and artists. In the film, TV and streaming segment, he acts as production counsel and negotiates production services, financing and distribution deals. Authors rely on Christopher to help them secure the most advantageous terms for their book contracts.

In the area of book publishing, Christopher advises authors and boutique publishers on a full range of agreements and commercial matters, including adaptations for film, TV and streaming projects. He has done significant cross-platform work representing artists in the film, TV and music industries in literary endeavors.

Clients also benefit from Christopher’s experience in intellectual property portfolio management, including trademarks and patents, and strong relationships in the domestic and international entertainment communities, developed while traveling and conducting business in 32 countries on five continents.

Christopher advises businesses in a range of industries, including legal cannabis, on investment transactions, due diligence requests, trademark law, consulting agreements, landlord/tenant disputes, permit applications and an array of regulatory issues. He also has significant experience assisting with securities compliance, corporate governance and startup management.

At the firm, Christopher chairs the Caregiver Network, which provides resources and support for members of the firm who are advancing their career while serving as a primary caregiver for a relative.

Before Fox Rothschild

Prior to joining Fox Rothschild, Christopher served as general counsel, president and founding CEO of Rightscorp, Inc., a copyright monetization company. He was also a member of the cannabis law practice of a West Coast boutique law firm. 

Beyond Fox Rothschild

Christopher has lectured at Stanford University and UC-Berkeley Law Schools. He has participated in seven South by Southwest Music Conferences, four MIDEM Publishing Conferences, three Sundance Film Festivals and two Cannes Film Festivals. He is also deeply involved in his community in a volunteer capacity, including with youth mentoring programs.
