Biography

Corey represents a diverse range of clients in matters involving fiduciary duty disputes, consumer protection violations and employment litigation.

His fiduciary duty work includes litigating shareholder disputes, fraud claims, breaches of the duties of loyalty and care, Caremark claims, restrictive covenant and trade secret matters, breach of contract actions and related issues.

In the consumer financial services arena, Corey defends creditors and other businesses in single-plaintiff and class action suits brought under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Telephone Consumer Protection Act, and other federal and state consumer protection statutes. He has authored numerous articles and blog posts exploring the intersection of consumer finance, health care and cannabis, including the firm's blogs, Health Care Law Matters and In the Weeds.

In his employment practice, Corey counsels and defends employers in cases involving discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wage-and-hour disputes and ERISA claims.

Corey is a member of the Association of Credit and Collection Professionals.

Corey previously served as a Reservist in the U.S. Navy Reserves, holding an active Department of Defense Security Clearance. Corey maintains an active pro bono practice representing Philadelphia homeowners in actions to quiet title with Philadelphia VIP.

Before Fox Rothschild

Before joining Fox, Corey practiced commercial litigation as an associate in the Princeton office of a national law firm. He previously served as a paralegal at a creditors’ rights firm in Parsippany, where he focused on compliance with the FDCPA, FCRA and the Bankruptcy Code. Corey also gained valuable experience through internships with a mass torts law firm, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the Supreme Court of New Jersey and the Delaware Department of Justice.
