Fox Rothschild Hosts Two-Day Motion Practice Workshop
Taking Fox Rothschild’s associate training program to the next level, the firm held its Motion Practice Workshop on September 8 and 9 in Philadelphia, attended by more than 40 associates from across the firm’s nationwide network of offices.
A 15-member faculty led panel discussions on oral advocacy, dispositive motions, and trial court versus appellate court briefing and argument. Associates participated in a series of “learn-by-doing” exercises, in which they had the opportunity to argue motions. Faculty rotated among the various groups to serve as judges and provide extensive feedback to the associates.
Guest lecturer Jessica P. Simon, Associate Director of Legal Practice Skills at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, presented a writing workshop on advanced motion drafting.
Fox partners and counsel participating as faculty included: Andrew W. Bonekemper, Jacqueline M. Carolan, David J. DePiano, Kasey DeSantis, Wanda D. French-Brown, Jonathan Heyl, Joshua Horn, Kip D. Nelson, Randall J. Pattee, Elizabeth A. Patton, Christopher C. Popper, Eric E. Reed, Corinne McCann Trainor, Ronald L. Williams, and Lisa M. Williford.
Fox Rothschild offers a series of interactive training programs for associates in its litigation-based practices, including a Deposition Skills Workshop, Mock Trial Academy, and Motion Practice Workshop, all of which provide in-depth, hands-on learning opportunities.
