Biography
For more than 40 years, Ed has assisted clients in resolving a wide array of general commercial business litigation, particularly disputes involving real estate. He is recognized not only as a highly effective advocate in court, but as a creative problem solver who finds innovative solutions to complicated legal challenges, avoiding lengthy and expensive litigation.
Co-Chair of the firm’s Title Insurance Practice Group, Ed is recognized as one of the premier title insurance attorneys in Pennsylvania. He handles title-related disputes on behalf of title insurance companies and their insureds, as well as title agents, and manages title-related litigation for title insurance company clients in various states throughout the country. The Pennsylvania Land Title Association relies on Ed for advice and as litigation counsel when the industry faces difficult legal issues and challenges.
Ed is also a valued advocate for clients in tax sale-related matters. For years, he has successfully protected the interests of his clients who are tax sale purchasers through quiet title actions and by defending attacks on the validity of tax sales. Based on his extensive knowledge in this area, Ed is retained on a regular basis by tax servicing companies seeking assistance with respect to tax sale matters.
Ed’s leadership roles within the firm have included:

Beyond Fox Rothschild
Ed regularly makes presentations to title insurance groups on issues of importance to both insurers and title agents. He also speaks on behalf of the Pennsylvania Bar Institute on real estate issues and ethics. Ed is a trainer on quiet title litigation and for more than 20 years has mentored volunteer attorneys for the Philadelphia Volunteers for the Indigent Program (VIP).
Ed is also a member and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Center School, a school for children with learning challenges located in Abington, Pennsylvania. As a member of the Board, Ed provides guidance and leadership to the school in fulfilling its mission to provide children who learn differently with a personalized education so that they are able to realize their potential and reshape the way they view themselves and their future.
