Biography

An experienced litigator, Ed helps businesses and nonprofits resolve a broad range of commercial and workplace disputes in state and federal court.

He represents retail and internet-based companies in business and consumer lawsuits at trial and on appeal and has litigated numerous cases on behalf of regional and national banks, media outlets and nonprofit organizations. Matters he has handled include:

  • Breaches of contract
  • Insurance coverage/policy holder disputes
  • Real estate fraud
  • Banking and financial services litigation
  • Media and communications litigation

Ed has led internal investigations for publicly traded and private companies as well as nonprofit organizations, including investigations into claims concerning C-suite level executives and against the CEO of an international company.

Ed also represents railroads in real estate and injury cases, including disputes over personal jurisdiction, and defends businesses in employment matters against alleged violations of federal and state discrimination laws.

Before Fox Rothschild

Prior to joining Fox Rothschild, Ed was partner at a regional law firm where he was a member of the firm’s Executive Committee, chair of the firm’s Hiring Committee and a member of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee.

While attending law school, Ed served as a judicial extern and judicial intern for the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey and as senior editor of the Rutgers Law Journal. He also earned second place for a brief in the Hunter Moot Court Competition and won the Albert P. Blaustein Memorial Award for legal scholarship.

Ed worked as a newspaper reporter and in public relations before entering the legal profession.

Beyond Fox Rothschild

Ed represents pro bono clients at trial and on appeal, focusing on First Amendment issues, prisoner rights and immigration matters. He is on the board and was vice president of HIAS Pennsylvania, a nonprofit organization that provides legal and social services to immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers.
