Ellie is an experienced litigator who centers her practice on the efficient resolution of complex corporate and employment disputes before state and federal courts and administrative forums.

  • Successfully defeated a motion for temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction in a high-stakes battle over e-commerce technology with claims involving breaches of non-competition and non-solicitation provisions, commercial trade libel, defamation, tortious interference with contractual relations, misappropriation of trade secrets and contributory trademark infringement.
  • Defended a logistics corporation in a multimillion-dollar litigation of employment-related claims, including abetting the breach of restrictive covenant agreement and misappropriation of trade secrets.
  • Defended a trucking corporation in a competitor litigation, which included claims alleging tortious interference with restrictive covenant agreements and unfair competition.
  • Successfully obtained advancement for corporate executive in federal court and secured a satisfactory settlement to resolve the complex dispute involving various claims, including breach of fiduciary duties and misappropriation.
  • Represented private equity defendants in Lusk, et al. v. Life Time Fitness, Inc., securing dismissal of Section 14(a), Section 20(a) and state common law claims relating to the purchase of Life Time Fitness, Inc.
  • Secured dismissal of a federal securities class action challenging the $1.4 billion acquisition of Silver Bay Realty Trust Corporation, a publicly traded REIT, by Tricon Capital Group.
  • Defended large e-commerce and online retail company in connection with In re Lyft, Inc., Securities Litigation, resulting in dismissal of the client from the case early in the litigation.
  • Successfully defended a pharmacy benefits manager against various tort, contract and statutory claims in court and arbitrations.
  • Successfully defended numerous employers against discrimination and retaliation charges at the early stages of administrative agency proceedings, avoiding the risk of a costly litigation.
  • Obtained preliminary injunctive relief in arbitration enjoining violation of non-compete and non-solicit agreements.
  • Won summary judgment dismissal for a nonprofit director on the basis of statutory immunity, leading to a complete resolution of all claims against the organization and its director.

Prior to joining Fox, Ellie was an associate at Oppenheimer Wolff & Donnelly LLP. During law school, Ellie served as assistant editor of the William Mitchell Law Review and as a member of the National Moot Court Competition.
