Biography

A member of our Litigation Department, Mike represents clients in a wide variety of civil litigation matters, including commercial, labor and employment, sports, gaming, construction, professional liability, health care, international and personal injury, in federal and state courts across the country.

Representative Matters

Among the matters Mike has handled and/or assisted in, he has:

  • Obtained a seven-figure settlement for a group of investors in an action alleging complex fraud and money laundering.
  • Obtained dismissal of a case brought against a limited liability company where the plaintiff claimed ownership in the company.
  • Obtained dismissal of a breach of contract case prior to trial on behalf of health insurance provider.
  • Obtained temporary restraining order on behalf of an amateur player over an erroneous suspension, which lifted the suspension and allowed the player to participate in a crucial state tournament game.
  • Obtained settlement in a breach of contract case where the client was originally the defendant but, through detailed counterclaims, the case ultimately resulted in a monetary award for the client.
  • Obtained dismissal of a fraud/negligence case prior to trial for a local casino where the demand was in the mid-six figures.
  • Obtained dismissal of a construction injury case prior to trial where the demand was in the low- to mid-seven figures.
  • Resolved a construction injury case for less than a third of the demand at arbitration.

Before Fox Rothschild

Mike was an associate in the Philadelphia office of a national law firm where his practice focused on the representation of physicians, surgeons, nurses, physician assistants and physician groups in professional liability actions. In addition, Mike defended clients in a variety of other matters, including construction, product liability, premises liability and contract disputes.

He previously clerked for the Honorable Sean Kennedy of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas.

While earning his law degree at Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law, Mike was a member of Drexel’s nationally ranked trial team. He also worked as a teaching assistant at Drexel for the school’s Trial Advocacy class and clerked for personal injury firms and a wealth management firm. Mike earned a B.S. in business with concentrations in finance and management from Northeastern University and was captain and a pitcher on the varsity baseball team.

Beyond Fox Rothschild

Mike performs pro bono work for Wills for Heroes, which provides free basic estate planning for first responders and military veterans. He also performs pro bono work for Pennsylvania Free Legal Answers, an online legal advice clinic. He previously volunteered with the Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund, Christian Legal Clinics, Special Olympics and Miracle League.
