Biography

Mike’s real estate practice focuses on complex commercial transactions. He has broad-based experience in commercial real estate, with particular emphasis on acquisitions, development and commercial leasing across all asset classes.

Mike represents owners and developers as well as landlords and tenants in industrial, office, retail, residential and special-use transactions, including motor fuel facilities, restaurants and hotels, throughout the United States. He has successfully negotiated leases for millions of square feet of build-to-suit and triple net industrial warehouse, office and retail space throughout the country on behalf of multinational tenants and institutional landlords. Mike also manages litigation issues and litigation avoidance strategies for real estate owners, landlords and tenants in connection with loan workouts and commercial lease disputes.

Mike serves as the Administrative Partner for the New York Real Estate Practice. He previously served as the Office Managing Partner of the firm’s New York Office and as an elected At-Large Member of the Firm’s Executive Committee.

As a member of the Hospitality Group, Mike handles restaurant leasing and leasing advisory services and strategy for high-end restaurants nationally.

In addition, Mike represents petroleum companies in connection with complex multisite acquisitions and sales, leasing and financing of their real estate assets, including refiners, wholesalers and distributors of well-known branded retail gas products, as well as the landlords and tenants of retail motor fuel facilities. He also represents petroleum company clients as franchisors in their distributor and franchise relationships with franchisees of branded retail motor fuel service stations.
