This session will equip you with practical tools and techniques to become more effective, confident public speakers in the property tax context—whether in your own presentations or in helping develop the next generation of persuasive advocates in property tax practice. Drawing on classical rhetoric and modern best practices and real-life experience, the speakers will address how to build confidence, organize persuasive presentations, leverage visual aids, and other techniques to maximize impact. Attendees will leave with actionable strategies they can immediately apply to elevate both their own advocacy and their ability to coach emerging professionals.

Learning Objectives:
At the end of this session, the participants will be able to:

  • Identify techniques for building speaking confidence, overcoming fear, and mentoring junior property tax professionals in persuasive oral advocacy.
  • Apply the three classical pillars of rhetoric—ethos, logos, and pathos—to structure and deliver persuasive property tax presentations.
  • Design organized presentations that incorporate effective visual aids and audience-aware messaging.
  • Evaluate their own public speaking performance and identify specific opportunities for improvement.
