Fox Rothschild welcomes Adam E. Richards as a partner in the Construction Practice in the firm’s Miami office.

Board Certified in Construction Law by The Florida Bar, Richards advises clients across the full lifecycle of development and construction matters, from drafting and negotiating complex project agreements, serving as project counsel, to resolving disputes through litigation, arbitration and pre-suit strategies.

Richards represents clients in a broad range of construction-related matters, including contract drafting, project consultation, delay claims, mechanics’ liens, bond claims, licensure issues, insurance recovery and construction defect disputes, as well as risk transfer and indemnity matters. His project experience spans high-rise residential towers, hotels, luxury homes, courthouses, airports, stadiums, roadways and treatment plants in both the public and private sectors.

Richards has successfully handled complex, high-stakes matters, such as a multimillion-dollar arbitration dispute involving a stadium build-out, payment bond lawsuits between lower tier subcontractors and a national general contractor, significant construction delay, defect and catastrophic injury claims, with recent results including summary judgment for general contractor in a highly technical and contentious dispute with a subcontractor, settlement of unlicensed contracting claims at mediation in a multi-party dispute for total repair costs plus legal fees, and a multi-million dollar civil theft final judgment. He has also drafted and negotiated agreements for residential and commercial developments throughout the country, including a $130 million student housing project in Miami.

Richards earned his J.D. from University of Miami School of Law and his B.A. from Binghamton University – State University of New York.
