Michael Sweet Reappointed Chair of the California Citizens Compensation Commission

Fox Rothschild congratulates Michael A. Sweet, who was reappointed by Gov. Gavin Newsom to serve as Chair of the California Citizens Compensation Commission.

Sweet will continue his work leading the Commission in setting the salaries and benefits of California’s constitutional officers and members of the State Legislature.

A member of the firm’s Executive Committee, Managing Partner of its San Francisco office, and Chair of its Financial Restructuring & Bankruptcy Department, Sweet leads a nationwide team that provides strategic guidance in corporate restructurings and bankruptcy litigation as well as in non-bankruptcy insolvency-related matters. He is recognized by Chambers USA as a leading attorney for Bankruptcy/Restructuring in California.

Sweet is an accomplished leader in his local bankruptcy bar, having served as president of the California Bankruptcy Forum and the Bay Area Bankruptcy Forum as well as co-chair of the Northern District of California's Bankruptcy Bench-Bar Advisory Committee.

He is a Commissioner on the San Francisco Human Rights Commission, and a member of the California Democratic State Central Committee, Party Platform Committee, California Jewish Political Action Committee and Raoul Wallenberg San Francisco Jewish Democratic Club.
