Biography

Robert focuses on estate planning, wealth preservation, and trust and estate administration for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families in Miami and throughout South Florida. He counsels clients on minimizing federal transfer taxes, creating wills and trusts, asset protection strategies, and prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.

Robert works closely with entrepreneurs, corporate executives, professional athletes, entertainers, physicians and foreign nationals to design and implement tailored wealth preservation strategies. His approach involves collaborating with each client's team of advisors, including accountants, financial planners and other professionals, to develop comprehensive plans that address each family's unique circumstances and goals. He regularly structures irrevocable life insurance trusts, sales to defective grantor trusts, grantor retained annuity trusts and limited family partnerships as part of sophisticated tax planning engagements.

In addition to individual estate planning, Robert advises closely held business owners on entity formation, organizational structure and business succession planning. He takes a holistic, personalized approach to every engagement, helping clients protect their legacies while achieving their long-term financial objectives. Robert is also a frequent lecturer to accountants, attorneys and medical professionals on estate planning, asset protection and business planning topics.

Before Fox Rothschild

Before joining Fox Rothschild, Robert was a partner at in the Miami office of a Florida-based business law firm. Prior to that, he was a partner at a well-regarded Florida trusts and estates boutique. Earlier in his career, Robert practiced as an associate at a Miami-based commercial law firm.

Beyond Fox Rothschild

Robert is active in the South Florida community, serving on the Professional Advisory Committee of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation.

He authored the "Fiduciaries" chapter (Chapter 12) of Basic Estate Planning in Florida, published by The Florida Bar.
