Biography
James is a seasoned intellectual property litigator and analyst. He has represented clients in federal courts and the International Trade Commission (ITC).
Coming from a multidisciplinary background, his litigation experience spans a wide range of technologies, from computer hardware/software and wireless standards to pharmaceuticals and medical devices. James works with clients asserting or defending against patent infringement.
In addition to active litigation, James has experience working with clients on portfolio analysis and pre-litigation strategy. On the corporate side, James assists with patent due diligence and risk assessments. Recognizing the international nature of many matters, James also has experience working with cross-border teams.
Before Fox Rothschild
Prior to joining Fox Rothschild, James spent over ten years litigating and analyzing patents at a national firm.
While in law school, James earned the American Bar Association - Bureau of National Affairs Award for Excellence in the Study of Intellectual Property Law as well as CALI Awards for Intellectual Property, Patent Law and Trade Secrets, and Advanced Litigation: Problem-Solving Seminar. He served as a managing editor of the Legal Information Institute’s Supreme Court Bulletin.
As an undergraduate, James double majored in chemistry and mathematics. He conducted research in computational chemistry including software development. He was named to Phi Beta Kappa and Sigma Xi, a scientific research honor society. In addition, he received The Norton Prize for demonstrating the greatest capacity for research in chemistry, The Donald J. Denney Prize in Physical Chemistry and The Edward Huntington Memorial Mathematical Prize Scholarship.
