Biography
Formerly a senior field attorney with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), Joel represents a broad range of businesses in labor and employment matters.
Drawing on a decade of experience investigating and litigating unfair labor practice claims for the NLRB, Joel represents clients in traditional labor matters that implicate the National Labor Relations Act, including collective bargaining, arbitration, mediation, union organizing and elections, and other proceedings before the NLRB.
Joel also counsels clients on a wide range of workplace issues, including wage and hour disputes, discrimination and harassment allegations, employee corrective action, reasonable accommodations for disabilities and religion, leaves of absence, and health and safety matters. To help his clients prevent litigation, Joel provides comprehensive guidance on drafting employee handbooks, workplace policies, employment agreements and handling other day-to-day HR matters.
Before Fox Rothschild
Prior to joining Fox Rothschild, Joel was a senior field attorney with the National Labor Relations Board in the Winston-Salem, NC, area, for 10 years, where among many other achievements, he represented the General Counsel in several complex cases with nuanced legal theories, including Community Health Systems (CHS) I: 10-CA-094403, et al., CHS II: 10-CA-151016, et al., Boeing: 10-CA-204795, and International Longshoremen Association and United States Maritime Alliance: 10-CC-276241, et al. He also lectured on the NLRB’s behalf in CLE and university law school presentations.
