Fox Rothschild congratulates Erin S. Johnson, who was recognized as one of 36 Rising Stars “who are blazing trails, demonstrating excellence and shaping the future of the legal profession,” by the Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA).

MCCA works with law firms and legal departments to help advance a more equal legal profession, grounded in opportunity and access for all. The association will honor Johnson at its Pathways Conference on Sept. 9 in Washington, DC.

A leader in the community, Johnson serves as co-chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee of the Coalition of Women’s Initiatives in Law, a nonprofit dedicated to bringing together women who work with the government, law firms and companies of all sizes. The Coalition nominated Johnson for the Rising Stars honor.

“Erin’s dedication to the advancement of the legal profession and broader community is truly commendable,” said Gray Mateo-Harris, a Partner in Fox’s Chicago office and board member with the Coalition of Women’s Initiatives in Law. “This well-deserved recognition for her leadership, mentorship of underrepresented attorneys, and excellence in legal services underscores her profound impact and signals an even brighter future ahead.”

An Associate in our Chicago office and Labor & Employment Department, Johnson advises public and private entities on a range of employment issues and workplace litigation. She provides guidance to employers on hiring, discipline, termination, discrimination, privacy, defamation, and wage and hour issues.

Johnson is the Founder and Director of Project P.L.E.A.S.E., an enrichment program aimed at creating a holistic learning environment for adolescents in Chicago and providing out-of-classroom experiences. She is an active member and previous committee chairperson in her local chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. She also volunteers with legal aid organizations and has a particular interest in serving as a guardian ad litem on behalf of minor children.
