Biography

Sahara represents and advises clients on a broad range of employment-related matters. A seasoned litigator licensed in California and New York, Sahara now focuses on preventative counseling — helping clients build HR systems and best practices that keep them out of court and guiding them through remediation of the practices that create litigation exposure.

Her practice also includes assessing employment law compliance and risk exposure in corporate transactions, guiding clients in reductions in force and transitions and resolving post-acquisition employment matters, including negotiating employment agreements and separations and advising on restrictive covenants and plant closings.

She has deep experience in guiding clients through the ever-growing list of federal, state and local employment statutes, including the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, Family and Medical Leave Act and the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notifications (WARN) Act, as well as advising on leaves of absence coordination, employee classifications, paid sick leave compliance, reasonable accommodations, sexual harassment complaints and investigations, Title VII discrimination claims and wage and hour laws.

Sahara is also adept at setting up HR infrastructure and compliance for growth-stage companies. She works closely with management on employee engagement and retention strategies, drafting customized and effective employee handbooks and personnel policies, and setting up and maintaining proper workforce classification structure, wage and hour practices and leave of absence management.

Sahara is on the cutting edge of counseling employers on integrating artificial intelligence into their workplaces. She also creates and provides training workshops and coaches C-level executives on a range of employment-related topics, including harassment, interviewing and hiring, effective communications, management of leave laws, managerial intelligence and sensitivity issues.
