Biography
A skilled litigator, Ashley represents companies and their shareholders in a variety of commercial disputes.
She focuses her practice on complex business litigation with an emphasis on trade secret, restrictive covenant, and shareholder litigation. She often assists with matters related to internal corporate governance and business torts involving unfair and deceptive business practices, director and officer liability and contract interference.
Ashley regularly practices in the North Carolina Business Court, which is a specialized forum of the superior court division.
Before Fox Rothschild
Prior to joining Fox Rothschild, Ashley served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Michael L. Robinson of the North Carolina Business Court.
Ashley attended Wake Forest University School of Law, where she was an executive board member of the Wake Forest Law Review and a member of the Wake Forest Moot Court Board. She regularly visits campus to coach and volunteer as a judge for Wake’s various moot court competitions.
Prior to law school, Ashley attended Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island, where she spearheaded a nationwide academic freedom campaign and was the University’s first recipient of the Newman Civic Fellowship and a 2015 recipient of the University President’s Core Values Medallion.
Beyond Fox Rothschild
Ashley has served as the Civil Reporter for the North Carolina Pattern Jury Instructions Committee since 2021.
The Pattern Jury Instruction Committee is made up of North Carolina superior court judges, assisted by the University of North Carolina’s School of Government and supported by the North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts. Each year, the Committee publishes annual supplements to the North Carolina Pattern Jury Instructions based on changes in statutory and case law. The instructions are used across the State of North Carolina.
Ashley also serves as an attorney advisor to the Business Court Observership course offered at Wake Forest University School of Law, which encourages students to attend hearings at the Business Court chambers located on Wake’s campus.
