Executive Orders (EOs) are having a growing influence on how federal projects are initiated, paused, or even terminated. From the creation of the Digital Operations Governance Executive (DOGE) to the shifting landscape of federal procurement and energy policy, A/E firms must stay agile. This session will equip attendees with the knowledge and strategies needed to anticipate and respond to these evolving directives.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Describe the Executive Order that established DOGE, understand its mission, and recognize how it builds upon the work of the U.S. Digital Service (USDS).
- Identify the key considerations in Terminations for Convenience (T4C), including proactive planning and strategies for negotiating favorable settlement proposals.
- Discuss the implications of proposed EO-driven changes to federal procurement, including consolidation under GSA and efforts to streamline the FAR to fewer than 100 pages.
- Evaluate how the Unleashing American Energy EO may influence future federal design and construction practices.
