New Jersey Judiciary Courts Honor Fruqan Mouzon at the Black Pioneers in the Law Exhibit
Fox Rothschild LLP congratulates Fruqan Mouzon, who has been featured in the New Jersey Judiciary Courts Black Pioneers in the Law Exhibit.
Starting in 2017, the exhibition series was created to “honor the achievements of individuals who have made an extraordinary impact in the law and to educate the public about the Vicinage’s significant role in the advancement of justice in New Jersey and the nation.” The exhibit, which ends on Juneteenth, features displays of different artifacts, photographs and news articles honoring black pioneers in law.
A partner in the firm’s Morristown, NJ office, Mouzon has more than two decades of public and private sector experience with a focus on cannabis law, litigation and regulatory compliance.
Clients in the legal cannabis industry rely on him, and his detailed understanding of regulatory law, to guide them through all steps of the licensing and compliance process. Mouzon’s advocacy is informed by a strong knowledge of the state's economy and regulatory framework acquired while working in government, where he served as General Counsel for the New Jersey State Senate Majority Office and Assistant Counsel to former New Jersey Gov. John Corzine. In this role, Mouzon played a pivotal role in writing the 2021 New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory, Enforcement Assistance, and Marketplace Modernization Act, which legalized the recreational use of cannabis in the Garden State.
Mouzon earned his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law and his B.A. from Old Dominion University.
