A testament to her contributions and unwavering dedication to the hospitality industry, Fox Rothschild Hospitality Practice Chair Carolyn D. Richmond received the Visionary Leadership Award during the American Jewish Committee’s (AJC) Food Service & Hospitality Division Tribute.

The event celebrated dynamic leaders in the field whose vision and values reflect those of the AJC. Richmond was lauded as a “wise, compassionate and effective counselor” who has a “remarkable record of achievement as a litigator and adviser” and deep roots in the restaurant and hospitality industry. This marked the first time the Division has honored an attorney representing employers in the industry.

Richmond brings three decades of experience representing and counseling employers in hospitality, including restaurants, hotels/resorts, centralized kitchens, caterers and nightlife operators, among others. She has extensive experience litigating wage and hour class actions, ADA Title III matters, restrictive covenants and employment discrimination cases.

She works with clients to navigate the full range of workplace issues, including the hiring process, diversity awareness training, union avoidance, employee polices, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and advising hospitality startups and private equity firms. She has litigated a number of representation cases, unfair labor practice cases, and represented many employers across the hospitality industry in union organizing campaigns. She also serves as Labor Counsel for the New York City Hospitality Alliance.
