Fox Rothschild welcomes Joe Meadows as a partner in the Litigation Department in the Washington, DC office.

“Joe brings an exceptional depth of courtroom experience and a national reputation in defamation and First Amendment litigation,” said Doug Hibshman, Fox’s Washington, DC Office Managing Partner. “His ability to handle high‑stakes litigation, media, and intellectual property matters will be an immediate asset to our clients and our firm.”

A veteran trial attorney with more than two decades of experience, Meadows represents businesses and individuals in complex commercial litigation, intellectual property disputes, defamation, and First Amendment matters in federal and state courts nationwide. He is well-versed in cyber‑reputation issues, advising clients on protecting brands, reputations, and property from online attacks and damaging statements. Further, he handles trademark and patent infringement cases in federal court, as well as registration disputes before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

Meadows has tried cases before judges and juries, argued trial and appellate matters, and arbitrated commercial disputes across multiple jurisdictions. He also counsels clients on the strategic deployment of intellectual property to advance business objectives. Clients in the cybersecurity, e‑commerce, and communications sectors rely on him for guidance on litigation and regulatory risk, including matters involving digital forensics, ransomware response, and crisis communications.

Meadows is the current author of The Law of Defamation in Virginia (Fifth Edition). His client base spans government contractors, healthcare companies, technology and e‑commerce businesses, manufacturers, start‑up ventures, political figures, and high‑net‑worth individuals.

Meadows earned his J.D. from West Virginia University College of Law, his LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center, and his B.S. from Wake Forest University.

Prior to joining Fox, he was a partner with Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani in Alexandria, Virginia.
