Health Law and Privacy & Data Security

Elizabeth uses her sophisticated understanding of the law to help clients comply with the privacy and security requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other federal and state laws. She has assisted clients in analyzing and responding to breaches of data and PHI as well as ransomware attacks. She serves as Co-chair of the firm’s Privacy and Data Security Practice Group and writes and speaks nationally and internationally on privacy and data security matters affecting medical technology companies.

Elizabeth also provides legal advice to health care providers, regulated health plans and self-funded employer plans on evolving technologies and new models of health care delivery and payment, including direct employer plan-provider contracting and implementation of Accountable Care Organization (ACO) models. She has also assisted in the sale and acquisition of hospitals and health care facilities, especially in guiding them through New Jersey’s strict change-in-ownership review process.
