Pro Bono
Our firm has a long history of giving back to the community. Our pro bono program supports our lawyers with the resources they need to provide legal services at no cost to individuals, community groups, nonprofits and religious and social welfare organizations.
Good Work Recognized
We encourage pro bono work by ensuring it is recognized. Lawyers and paralegals who participate in the pro bono program receive credit for time spent on those matters. Pro bono hours also factor into the determination of base salaries and bonuses.
Local Impact
Our pro bono work spans our national network of offices. We are dedicated to benefiting the communities where our attorneys live and work. By volunteering their time and sharing their knowledge and problem-solving skills, our attorneys make a lasting impact on those communities.
Every office takes part in pro bono work in its community, partnering with legal aid organizations to deliver aid where it is needed most.
Our Minneapolis office, for example, has strong partnerships with Legal Aid and other organizations to provide pro bono representation in matters involving domestic violence, foster care and adoption, human rights, housing and criminal expungement.
First- and second-year associates in the Philadelphia office work directly with the Philadelphia Volunteers for the Indigent Program (Philadelphia VIP). Each is assigned a case through the VIP and receives hands-on experience, working with a mentoring attorney to provide legal services to low-income individuals.
